Das Songbook ist ne tolle Sache. Allerdings sind die Originaltonarten beibehalten und man sollte sich auf 4-6 b's einstellen. Wen das nicht abschreckt: Klare Kaufempfehlung

wunderschöne Melodien mit schwierigen Songs, die stimmlich einiges abverlangen. Man taucht immer wieder gerne in die Welt des fantastischen Webber-Musicals ein.

I made my mother buy me this book. I read the novel, bought the CD, and now have the piano music. It's wonderfully written and very true to the original. The songs are not hard, but some of the keys are. You get used to it.

I got this book for Christmas and it is a great book. I love it. I play out of it as much as I can. It is very good for sight reading and they are good songs to learn to sing. This book is great! Buy it!

It was an amazing story. Once I started reading I found it difficult to put the book down. The story is well woven with the different characters showing how their individual personalities change throughout the novel. It gives a great perspective of how the Japanese occupation affected so many people in Singapore.

The reality that shines through this work of fiction surprised me. At the end of the book I was moved and almost sad it wasn't true. But it seems to have given insight into many true stories by bringing life to one amalgamation of all.

"How We Disappeared", Jing-Jing Lee's novel about one of the "comfort women" and her grandson's unraveling the mystery of her life promised great things. Unfortunately it did not live up to the promise of a compelling story that was tightly written and satisfying both emotionally and thematically.Wang Di, a seventeen year old girl, was conscripted by Japanese invaders in her village, located in Singapore. Taken to a black-and-white house, a Japanese brothel, she "serviced" Japanese soldiers. Friendships between the comfort women and their concern for one another enabled her to survive until the end of the war.This novel takes place in three different settings - the village where Wang Di lived before her capture; the brothel; and in her son's home both before and following her death. Further, it takes place during three time periods - Wang Di's life before and after World War II and the present day in which her grandson takes center stage . The novel shifts among these periods and settings randomly, providing glimpses of the impact of her past on her present life and that of her family.Jing-Jing Lee formats "How We Disappeared" in an interesting and somewhat unusual manner. Portions of the novel prior to and after World War II and Wang Di's captivity are narrated in the third person. It is as if the story was of someone else's life and not that of the protagonist. Portions of the novel in which she was held captive as a "comfort woman" are narrated in the first person. It is as if Wang Di must remind herself of her true identity and her individuality. Kevin also narrates the chapters in which he takes the lead in the first person voice. This allows him to tell his grandmother's story in a more personal manner and to draw the reader into his quest to discover her truths.If I were able, I would give "How We Disappeared" 3.5 stars. Portions of the novel are very engrossing, while other parts seem to meander and become vague.

I generally like point-of-view narratives and especially from a different perspective from myself.I found, however, that I didn't like author, Jing-Jing Lee's writing style.We have two main characters Wang Di and Kevin.She starts out with a rush description of her birth to a widow: all within just a few pages.What I found is that Ms. Lee spent too much time dwelling on things such as a description of her home or mundane activities of her day when she could have focused on her development as a woman instead of waiting much later in the book to deal with that.The relationship with her husband "Old One" was also hit-and-miss for me. And, although, she debated on whether to confront him about alleged infidelities that went on for decades, she doesn't.The transition between Wang Di and Kevin was also a bit dry.Kevin's story isn't much more interesting either.***There was a story that I read a few years ago about a single woman who lived in a small village in Poland during the Nazi occupation. And, here to, you're seeing through her eyes and her actions how she overcame the circumstances and saved a family and a soldier's life with the army tanks parked just a few feet away from her door.That story, My Mother's Secret, had me spellbound. I felt like I knew her and her daughter. I knew the people in the neighborhood, even so much as smelling the food she bought everyday from the market. I also felt the terror of Polish citizens being rounded up and never heard and seen again. It was a wonderful and empowering story.***Don't get me wrong, there were a few interesting moments in How We Disappeared, but they were few and far between. I don't know if you could let a story flounder for too long in passages that don't move the story along without losing the reader's interest.

Ich mag ihre herzliche Art.Da das Buch aus ihrer Sicht geschrieben ist, wird man auch ein Teil ihrer Gedanken und Gefühle.Es ist spannend zu sehen, wie sie auf den neuen Nachbarn Brandon reagiert.Es gibt immer wieder Momente, wo ich schmunzeln musste.Brandon gibt nicht auf Becky näher kennenzulernen und mit seiner Art ist es auch schwer ihn abzuweisen.Es gab Stellen, da hätte ich wirklich gerne die Hände über dem Kopf zusammen geschlagen...Das Prickeln zwischen den beiden kann man beim Lesen regelrecht spüren.Das Buch ist die perfekte Mischung aus Humor, Gefühl, Spannung, Drama und Leidenschaft.Mir war das Buch schon fast zu schnell vorbei!

Haynes has brilliantly interwoven the great themes of life and literature—fear, love, guilt and passion—in her personal journey through her mother’s death and her volunteer expedition to Africa where she is forced to look eye to eye with gorgeous and deadly animals daily. In this expedition cum memoir Haynes guides the reader without pushing, quite like the Drill Sargeant who masquerades as a ranger in his daily life, toward the center of her darkness and the beauty of her breakthrough—a slaughter. “I am covered in blood”….she tells us… but her triumph appears complete. The circle, she writes “is finally closing”. Funny, even though we take a personal safari and meet our demons every day, after struggling with Haynes through hers, she makes confrontation feel like a walk in the park.

Despite a few grammar problems, I loved this story. I had heard about it on Jimmy Fallon's show and was intrigued by the title. Melissa's journey really hit home for me. Fear, regret and guilt are not welcome in our lives. Our time here is so precious. Too precious to be wasted. Melissa shared her own experiences in overcoming those things and more. And I'll read it again and again.

The name of the book caught my attention.The beginning of the book also caught my attention because it was well written and humorous! Her experiences were very interesting and I learned something about South Africa too! I will encourage others to read this book

This book was on a list of 'must reads' somewhere, so I looked it up on Amazon. The reviews looked promising. I started reading and was soon disappointed. The character roles where not clear to me in the beginning and the writing was, as other reviewers mentioned, amateurish. I kept thinking this was written for young adults. I'm a bit more than a third of the way through the book and am contemplating not finishing it. I hate to do that but I'm still looking for the insightful journey I was promised. Laughing? Crying? I don't know about that. I may have furrowed my brow in confusion and I believe I rolled my eyes a few times. Does that count for emotional investment? But to be fair, I'm not done yet. Knowing me, I will finish what I started and see where the rest of the book takes me. It has to be on that 'must read' list for a reason right? I may be back with updates if I make it through.

Meine Tochter spielt und uebt nur dann am Klavier, wenn ihr die Musik gefaellt. Mit Frozen haben wir Erfolg. Es ist ausreichend anspruchsvoll, aber fuer unsere Tochter ( sie spielt mit wechselnder Lust seit 5 Jahren ) auch manageble und Anreiz genug um zu ueben. Der Klavierlehrer hat Spass wenn der Schueler Spass hat.

Alle Texte auf Englisch, was zu erwarten war. Trotzdem schade. Sehr hübsche Bilder aus dem Film auf den ersten Seiten.Für Anfänger nicht geeignet - die Klavierlehrerin hat für unsere kleine Tochter die Noten etwas vereinfacht, die Große kommt aber sehr gut damit klar und spielt ansonsten 'early intermediate'. So würde ich die Schwierigkeit auch zuordnen, vielleicht auch etwas geringer (z.B. "Rentiere sind besser als Menschen"). Allerdings sind die Noten sehr groß gedruckt, das wär auch platz- und papiersparender gegangen!

Also: meine Nachbarn haben das "Original"- mit schön viel b und #. Hier sind die glücklicherweise kaum zu finden, und so kann ein Anfänger sich am Frozen-Hype spielend beteiligen!

Die Schriftgröße und Lesbarkeit der Noten sind einwandfrei und exakt.Die Liedtext sind auf Englisch, genau wie das gesamte Buch.Viele Lieder, die gar nicht als eingenständiges Lied von mir wahrgenommen wurden, befinden sich sogar auch im Repertoire (bspw. das Lied vor/bei Elsas Krönung)Wie bei Noten üblich, wäre eine Ringbuchbindung, gerade für Klavier oder Keyboard, besser.

Ich habe nach Noten von Frozen gesucht, die meine kleine Geigenschülerin, mit ihrer Mutter am Klavier, zusammen spielen kann. Die hier sind für beide genug einfach, so macht es den beiden Spaß und meine Schülerin spielt manches davon bereits auswendig.

Sehr schön. Ich habe es gescheit und hat uns sehr gefallen. Immer wieder. Schneller Service. Schöne Bilder. Alles gut. Nichts zu mangeln.

Ich finde die Noten viel zu schwer für jemanden mit einfachem bis gutem Klavierkönnen. Dazu kommt, dass der Sprechgesang mit dazugenommen wurde, für mich nicht wirklich brauchbar.

Ich fand es ein wenig schwer gemacht, wenn man es mit den andere Heften vergleicht. Sonst aber gut gemacht. Schade war nur das es keinen deutschen Text dazu gab
